Siya The introduction...

On an empty urban street, amongst the Autumn coloured leaves, the cold bite of the air, while your breath dances before you. Music can be heard at an earsplitting volume pouring out from an art studio window. That’s where you’ll find me. Where a hip-hop producer takes a sample from the past and then breathes new life into it and uses the sample as a vehicle to express their own perspective. Siya Clothing takes vintage clothing and much like a producer, breathes new life into it through our own… Continue

Katie Simpson Oh goodie! A blog!

Hi! I am so excited! I love blogs. I have one already, on my website at www.kathleensimpson.info. But here is a new blog! So, what I guess my main excitement is is painting! I love it. I just was interviewed by an old friend, Trevis Hutsell, today. He's been interviewing people for a while and will have a book out at some point here. It was awesome. And it was certainly the longest interview I've ever had. And we talked about art. And since I LOVE art and talking about it I had fun. I hope to ha… Continue

White Trash Mosaics Sawdust City Days

Hooray! Last Saturday I received my information and vendor passes for Eau Claire's Sawdust City Days Festival! If you don't know, this is a four day festival in Eau Claire's Carson Park. Admission is free (yep, free) and there is a TON of stuff for the whole family, like WTM. I am (tentatively) set to be about four slots away from the Family Fun Tent and just down the line from the INFLATABLE PLAYGROUND (sounds cool, thought it needed all caps). I know, who goes to a festival to buy tables, r… Continue

Hallah John Paul Boltik Hurricane Katrina Artists

My name is Hallah John Paul Boltik, and I am an artist who was evacuated 11 days after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans (as well as a great deal of the Southern Gulf Coast) on August 29th, 2005. I count myself as one of the lucky ones, blessed and grateful... I lost everything, other than most of my artwork which is my livelihood, but I was alive. Others were not so fortunate, and though my life has been changed forever and more deeply than any other could possibly know, I know, that at… Continue

Hallah John Paul Boltik "Ahhhhh How Romantic!!" (The Life Of An Artist...)

I know that I'm not telling any of you anything new that when someone says to you "WOW!! Being a painter (or any other type of creative person) sounds sooooooo romantic, what a dream job!!" that you often times look around yourself and the particular challenges that come with following your dreams, and you can only imagine that their job must be torture beyond measure, whatever it is!! Such was the case with the Rossini Festival, here in Knoxville Tennessee, Saturday April 19th, 2008. Set-up w… Continue

Julia Newberg Market Saturday March 1

I am going to be showing cards, prints and hats at at market at George Fox University in Newberg Oregon on Sat. March 1 from 9-4. Anyone in the area should stop by. The market is being put on by a group of business students for their senior class project. They did a wonderful job with it last month for it being their first ever market. The best part of the market for me is that they let Jeanne (my 10 year old daughter) set up a table for face painting. Check out my photos for a picture of Linden… Continue

Emily Galvin random emily thoughts

So, my etsy shop now has more hearts than it has items, hooray! for some reason it seems like an accomplishment, although a sale would be even nicer! I am wondering how long it's going to take, wondering if my prices are too high, wondering if my pictures and descriptions are good enough. an element of self-doubt here? i do however feel that my jewelry is good enough, so that is something.

I am trying to get in on some craft shows this spring as well... though i have never done one so t… Continue

Emily Galvin New, new, new

Hello to everyone out there in internet land. My name is Emily and I am a jewelry designer. All my life I have been addicted to all sorts of crafts, and I stumbled upon jewelry making while browsing Michael's for something new to do about 7 years ago. Picked up a book on wire wrapping and a few beads, and I was hooked! Needless to say I am self-taught.

I opened a shop on etsy a few weeks ago, and I'm still trying to figure it all out... mostly how to get people to come look at my store… Continue
