Hi Sara,
I would love to do a trade, your recyled belt bracelets are great. Let me know when you get back to Washington.
I've been thinking about starting some sort of artisans co-op dedicated to art wearables. With gift stores and boutiques taking 40 - 50% it's really hard for an artist to make a profit and I really don't want to go back into advertising to earn a living, (I've grown extremely dissatisfied with the field), but I don't want to spend the majority of my time running a store as opposed to being in my studio, so just recently I started thinking maybe co-op rather than trying to open a store. But who knows, I change my mind frequently on that topic.
hey Sara! The pink tool belt itself is a real constructon grade belt. I foud it at home depot. the company's web site is www.GirlyLock.com. i made the tools pink with some spray paint and the grips are tennis racket grip tape. and the stars are plaster. i make a rough mold and shape them with wrasps and my sander. same as the peace love and happieness. then they get primed and painted. i topcoated the stars with glow in the dark paint (2 coats min)
thanks for the compliments!!! glad you like them and so is my daughter!
if you're gonna make some, let me know and i'll be happy to give you some tips from my exp, ok?
happy new year!!
